Spring/Summer looks

~  GRAB A CUP OF TEA THIS IS GOING TO BE A LONG POST ~

SPRING SEASON IS HERE.

Okay so this is more summery than spring but i'm a little too excited for summer!
You may have noticed the flower crown on my head, i absolutely love this Lana Del Rey inspired summer accessory. Now i'm all for the 'Crown and Glory' brand, but just wasn't willing to splash out the cash in my (empty) purse for a flower crown that i wasn't going to wear everyday. So i used my D.I.Y skills to make my own and i may do another post on how to make one. But i love them, although i don't recommend wearing them on a casual shopping trip - personally i think this is strictly festival summer head-wear!

This flapper style tasseled top is my absolute fave at the moment! And paired with this lacey white skater style skirt it kinda looks like a little dress! Since its spring i can finally bring out my teal loafers , they add that little pop off colour to the outfit!

Flower Crown - Handmade
Top - H&M
Skirt - H&M
Shoes - Primark
White lacey details everywhere - if you know me you know this is PERFECTION."I totally have 10 birds flying round my neck"

   Necklace - Primark (BARGAIN)

And because its not yet summer a kimono or big shirt will be perfect to just throw on top for when it gets a little more chilly!

~ And here comes look number 2 ~

"SHE WORE THAT TOP TWICE"
 - If Kate Middleton can get away with style recycling then we all can!
You can create a completely different look using the same item! I love this blue high low skirt, i purchased it so long ago in Christmas sale for like £8 or some outrageously lucky price like that.

Skirt - Topshop
Hat - Miss selfridge

I think prefer this look simply because the tassle details are more noticible because the white stands out against that iridescent blue!

Chucked on my trusty pair of karen walker style  sunnies - summer dreaming!

I think a knotted belt always adds a little touch of 'Boho'

Who doesn't love a bowler hat?! - since the season is changing i decided to whack out my straw bowler hat - this has way more of a summer vibe than my normal black hat.

Thank you so much for stopping by, reading and looking - let me know what you think of both looks and which look you prefer? I LOVE reading all of your comments!

The Cambridge Satchel Look.

"It's that geek chic look"
After receiving a Cambridge Satchel from my AMAZING parents i decided to do a post on styling it. My personal style is always quite layered; I went for the classic Jumper and collared shirt combination with a little denim pinafore dress..and of course my favourite bowler hat.

Pinafore dress - Topshop
Boots - Primark

~ Attention to detail ~
Another one of my collared blouses (I must own like 50 by now) but whenever i see clothing with pretty little detailing i'm instantly sold. This speckled jumper is one of my favourite mainly because its forest green and so super soft!

Blouse  - Thrifted
Jumper - Topshop

I completely ADORE this Brown 15" Batchel, the leather is so strong and sturdy so i can expect to have it for a long time - and i'm talking YEARS here. Most of my bags break within a year because the straps are so weak so this is a big upgrade. I love the retro/vintage look it has and cannot wait to keep styling it in different ways this summer!

Style Spotter...

"And I call this one, the bohemian beauty"
THAT DRESS. - As you can tell from all my 'style spotter' posts i spend most of my time looking at peoples style. This lovely lady's dress caught my eye, i just loved the way ocher colours went with her beautiful auburn hair...

From - Urban Outfitters

The print is so ethnic and typical of the bohemian style of Urban Outfitters. I love that she has cinched the dress in at the waist with a chunky brown belt that matches perfectly and adds shape to an otherwise shapeless dress.

"Can we all take a moment to admire her satchel style bag." - My jaw literally dropped when i saw this bag. I Adore the tapestry print, the chunky buckles and tassels and those colours are just divine. Paired with her dress this is pattern clash that just works!

Whats white, lace and paisley?

A throwback to my birthday last Thursday! This is by far one of my favourite dresses right now, why?
- Its White, a classic timeless colour that usually goes well with my dark skin tones.
- Its Lace, so feminine and pretty
- its PAISLEY, at the moment i have an obsession with all things paisley print as it reminds me of the 60's. When i took a closer look at the pattern i realised the dress had been sewn in a paisley pattern.
- its has a Turtleneck - Another style that i am loving at the moment purely because it also reminds me of 60's fashion.

From - Topshop Boutique

The back of this little dress is adorable -
I love how you can see a little bit of skin peeping through the lace.

I paired it with my nude patent platforms

My parents surprised me with a CAMBRIDGE SATCHEL! I am super thankful to my parents for such an awesome surprise. I wanted one for so long after watching the Google chrome advert in the cinema, there is amazing story behind the whole company - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0qDrRJT4zE

~  I will be doing a post about how i style it very soon! ~

Talking 'style' with a Model...

 E L L I E  .  F O X

I was lucky enough to interview the wonderful Ellie. You may have seen her modeling some beautiful clothes on websites such as Asos.com, Diffusion.co.uk and The White pepper.com. I really wanted have a chat with her because i'm personally inspired by her striking and clean cut look. I hope you enjoy reading her responses and taking a look at some of her stunning work as much as i did!

When and How did you get started?
My first ever photo-shoot was for a beauty pageant aged 14, it wasn't a great experience as the photos went to a competition. The fear of losing was a horrible thing at that age, the pageant industry isn't ideal. Almost 2 years later I was approached by a designer on the train and she asked me if I could model for her in London!

Why did you want to start modeling?
I didn't really want to start modelling, I kinda just fell into it. A lot of people have this misconception that it is my priority, when really I want to study and train and get on with my other hobbies also.

What has been your favourite shoot/modeling experience so far and why?
My favourite experience... Well that's a hard one, I can't choose. I think I really enjoy the majority of shoots, whether it be studio or on location, but the most exciting ones have to be on location as there is such a wide variety of things you can do and environments you can visit.

Where do you get your own personal style inspiration from?
My style inspiration is varied. I love clean lines and clinical materials but I can't get away with it at college/every day so opt for the more slouchy art-student look, heightening the impact with leather and dark colours - think Assassins Creed or Ann Demeulemeester.

Can you describe your personal style at the moment in 3 words?
But my style changes so often! - alchemistic, uncomplicated but meticulous

And lastly - Do you have any little style tips for this season?
Everything is "the new black" nowadays. Just look to art and culture for inspiration. Consider the shape of your body and what suits you best. Make shapes and vectors with your clothes. Get those staple items that will stay in your wardrobe forever - white shirts, black jeans, coloured sweaters etc. Don't be afraid.

If you're interested in the clothing in the shots above, why not visit www.thewhitepepper.com I am a huge fan of their clothing line and you will come across a lot more of Ellie's stunning work.

Topshop's Top-Prints...

Topshop have some B E A U T I F U L prints and patterns in their clothing line at the moment, just take a look...

1) "Channeling my inner Audrey Hepburn"

Paisley is personally my favourite print, this little shift dress is so adorable and definitely has a 1960's feel with its classic A-line shape. Little dresses like this tend to flatter most figures because they don't hug any lumps and bumps but have a timeless silhouette...so we are free to eat as much cake as we like in this one ladies!

2) "Daring Denim"

This Lovely little number is a bold choice and definitely something i would go for. You may think its a little too much being denim and patterned BUT if styled with simple and minimal pieces it will look stunning. The colours will work wonderfully in summer and even autumn seasons. It's so refreshing to see a unique and bold piece like this in Topshop.

3) "Turtle neck 'n' Teal"
I love LOVE LOVE this dress! The shape is so classy, and as you can tell i love things that are high neck. This Dress is a lot more formal than the others but ever girl needs a go to dress for a more formal occasion. the tiny embroidered damask print is absolutely beautiful, and it is teal - and absolute winner!

4) "Patterned Playsuit"

This playsuit is without a doubt a bold little number. The terracotta tones and baroque print make me think of Morocco. It is definitely one for the summer holidays on vacation in a nice warm country..if you're lucky..if not wear it anyway!

~A tip from Mutsy~
When wearing a printed and colourful dress try to think MINIMAL when styling it. One of these dresses with an patterned studded jacket and a big paisley scarf...probably not a good idea.
BUT i think it's always good to be a little more bold by incorporating prints and patterns into your wardrobe.

Style Spotter

I had to stop this lovely lady as soon as i spotted this skirt!
"Is that from urban outfites?!" -  I totally guessed it right!

Paisley is probably my favourite pattern...or one of them anyway. I think it is absolutely beautiful and usually super colouful. It definitely has a vintage feel to it as it was really popular in the 60's and i'm a total sucker for all things pretty and vintage or just vintage inspired.

From - Urban outfitters

She completed her outfit with a lovely cream blouse and a pair of suede oxford brougue style shoes. - Adorable

Style Spotter...

I stumbled upon some lovely style after college. I go to a 6th form college so everyone has to dress relativity 'smart'. With his lovely pair of turtle shell glasses, Luke here is working his 'Geek chic' look! I adore his dark ocher colored parka style coat and the fur trim is perfect for all this cold weather. I love all things teal and so his jumper caught my eye - Since jumpers and sweaters are majorly versatile and unisex I'm considering going out and getting one just like it!

 Coat - H&M
