"It's just...umm...brain food"
It's exam season and i don't know about you but when i revise i spend 80% of my time eating tons and tons of...'brain food'. I'm sure most of you can relate to the amount of rubbish we eat during revision, its a stressful time and chocolate always makes things a little easier.Thankfully my exams are officially over!!! So i decided to quit piggin' out 24/7 and attempt to be healthy...
"Summer time - when we actually start trying to make use of all those 'never been worn' work out clothes at the back of the wardrobe."
Maybe the sunshine turned me a little mad but i decided to start going on frequent runs (mostly power walking). I whipped out my sassy pair of 'Reebok Tone' trainers that i purchased last year in an attempt to start getting in shape. Running is so awesome it simultaneously burns calories, gets your heart pumping and is actually a good way to relieve stress!
Perks of going on a run - some beautiful nature appreciation time.
I'll either go on an early morning jog or an evening run and sky can be pretty fantastic!
Okay so i nearly crashed in my attempt to get a cool cycling instagram snap.
I absolutely love my little vintage bicycle and i don't ride it enough. So my best friend is also in on this whole health kick and we decided to go on an 8am bike ride to kick start the day! Although early mornings aren't for everyone i really recommend going on morning bike rides or runs because it is always super quite and calm outside! If you sit around all day then this will totally improve your leg strength and vascular health.
Healthy Breakfast - perfect way to start the day
I usually start the day with heaps of coco-pops but in order to maintain this health kick i traded the coco-pops for some Special K. It may not be chocolate but it is still so delicious, topped off with some vanilla yogurt and raspberries.
"YUM"
"WATER WATER WATER"
So my Dad got on board and dragged me out on a little hike! Notice the bottle of water in my hand, i can't stress enough how important hydration is. Since your brain is mostly water, drinking it helps you think, focus and concentrate better and be more alert. It flushes out toxins and my personal favorite perk is that it improves skin complexion!
Now i would do a workout 'Outfit of the Day' but i'm not even sure where most of these clothes are from. We all own some unused fitness gear!
Rest stops are needed!
Outdoor exercise means some beautiful views
I traded those tempting chocolate snacks for some yummy Yeo Valley raspberry yogurt and fresh berries! I won't cut out my snacks but i'll make sure i'm not constantly snacking on high sugar processed junk as it won't do me good in the long run. We all know that saying 'A moment on the lips a lifetime on the hips'.
"Just call me Chef Mutsa"
Lastly I don't calorie count or anything but i try to eat my 5 a day ad keep a balanced diet, making sure there's plenty of veggies on my plate! I'm trying to learn how to cook fast healthy before i head off to Uni next year. This low fat chicken stir fry was so delicious and an absolute win with the rest of my family!
That's it from me! Thank you so much for stopping by, i hope you enjoyed this little lifestyle post i may start doing more of them - let me know what you think! And let me know what you you do to stay healthy?
Don't forget to leave a comment bellow as i really do love reading and replying to them all.
